Now, without your doctor's order, you can select the test you want to run, and for very little money, we can have lab work ordered, performed by LabCorp, and the results sent directly to you.
Lab Work Can Now Be Ordered as You Select Them:
More and more frequently, important lab work necessary to follow a treatment plan, or determine a developing illness, is not being ordered during doctor's visits. We can now overcome this problem. During your visit with Dr. Yerby, you may suggest labs you would like to have run and a tool will be described to provide you with a personal lab ordering service. Participating draw centers are located all across the country through LabCorp. The cost is much lower than a conventional doctor's office would charge, although you will be paying for these out-of-pocket at the time they are ordered.
Popular labs that are important, but requests are often refused, are:
CBC / Chemistry Profile (over 40 basic blood tests)
Full Lipid Panel (part of the 40-test profile above)
C-Reactive Protein (CRP: heart disease and inflammation test)
Homocysteine (heart disease test)
Fasting Insulin (a predictor of diabetes and Insulin Resistance)
Free T3 (the all-important 'active' thyroid hormone)
Vitamin D (important for bone health)
Fibrinogen (a blood-clotting factor that can increase risk of stroke)
Urinary 2/16 Estrogen Metabolite Ratio (for estrogen sensitive cancers)
CoEnzyme Q10 (low CoQ10 can cause many health problems)
Hormones and Neurotransmitters are tested by urine or saliva and samples are gathered 'at home' and sent directly to the labs (NeuroScience or Metametrix) with a prepaid, pre-addressed envelope. Test kits are supplied during an office (or phone) visit. These include estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, cortisol, serotonin, dopamine, epinephrine, melatonin, and more. Many of these tests are covered by insurance.
Toxic heavy metals such as arsenic, lead, cadmium, mercury, and uranium, and the nutrient antioxidants that protect against them, are tested by hair analysis or urine collection. Test kits are supplied during office visits. Evaluation for treatment will be provided during follow-up appointments.
